About The Friends of the Freight House (FoFH)

An 'Early' Friend of the Lansdale Freight House

We are THISCLOSE to bringing this stately stone structure from the turn of the 20th century back to 21st century glory. But we can't finish the job without the continued support of our friends in this great community. Join us as a donor, sponsor, or volunteer, and help us reach our goal!

Our Work Thus Far

Among our efforts to date, we stabilized the lower stone wall and door sills facing the Liberty Bell Trail.

Many Hands, Light Work

Community volunteers have taken us to this point, clearing away rotted flooring and cleaning up the area.

Friends, Please Join Us

Whether you can afford to donate a few dollars (or more), or whether you can volunteer your valuable time and energy — or if you just want to stay apprised of the progress of the project — the support of our friends, neighbors, and partners in the business community and local organizations is crucial to this effort. Welcome to our "Friends of the Freight House" campaign!

The Numbers So Far

We have received several grants, including from the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission, the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, totaling just over $1 million. But because of inflation, we still have a ways to go. To get the property to occupancy stage will cost a total of $1.6 million; finishing the restoration work to its best use and condition currently increases that total cost to $2.2 million. As you can see, we are about 2/3rds funded — this is the community's chance to get us to the finish line!
